The battery thermal management system is a very important component of pure electric vehicles. With the promising application of liquid immersion technology in the field of electronic equipment
its application in battery thermal management systems has also received increasing attention. Power battery immersion liquid cooling technology is to directly immerse the battery in an insulating fluid and remove the heat from the battery through convection heat transfer or phase change heat transfer. From the perspective of power battery thermal management
the impact of temperature on battery performance and the advantages and limitations of using different battery thermal management systems are comparatively analyzed in this work
and the importance of an immersed battery thermal management system is explained. On this basis
the current key technical issues and related research progress of the liquid immersed battery thermal management system are reviewed in detail
including coolant selection
module design
life and safety research. Finally
the power battery immersion liquid cooling products developed by some manufacturers for exploration or demonstration work are introduced.
