Simulation and Experimental Investigation on Porous Gas Bearings for Linear Compressor
The active gas consumption technology of a gas bearing is adopted to realize oil-free lubrication and non-contact operation of a linear compressor to ensure the reliability of the compressor. To study the influence of the structural parameters of the porous bearings and the design parameters of the compressor on the gas consumption
this study used R600a as the refrigerating medium to establish a porous gas bearing model
and the gas consumption was simulated and calculated using FLUENT. The influence of the porous material thickness
thickness of the gas film
discharge pressure
operating frequency
and cooling capacity ratio on the gas consumption and gas consumption rate of the gas bearings was analyzed
and the accuracy of the model was verified through experimental tests. The results show that the error between the simulation result and the experimental measurement of gas bearing gas consumption is within ±15%. The optimal design parameter combination is given according to the gas consumption rate. This provides a reference for the optimization design of porous gas bearings for linear compressors.
