Refrigerant Distribution Performance of Dry-expansion Evaporator
A main factor restricting the performance of dry-expansion evaporators is the imbalance of refrigerant distribution between each tube. In this study
two improvementschemes for setting a distribution pipe and an orifice plate have been proposed to address this problem. The computational fluid dynamics simulation and heat transfer calculation were used to analyze the changes in the uniformity of the refrigerant distribution
pressure drop
and heat transfer performance of the evaporator. The results showed that although they lead to greater pressure loss
the optimal distribution pipe and orifice plate improved the distribution uniformity by 56.60% and 60.80%
and the evaporator heat transfer of the two schemes improved by 19.69% and 23.83%
