Development of Microchannel Gas Cooler for Trans-critical CO2 Automotive Air Conditioning
A modified design calculation program was developed for gas coolers using the mean temperature difference method.Since the variable thermophysical properties of supercritical CO_2 significantly influence the convection heat transfer in tubes
the thermodynamic and transport properties of supercritical CO_2 used in the calculations were determined with REFPROP7.0.The two most recent published correlations for in-tube cooling were also used in the program.The results show no notable difference between the two correlations.The in-tube pressure drop predicted is also quite small.
