Effects of Surfactants on Absorption of Water Vapor into Aqueous LiBr Solution
The purpose of this study is to prepare some basic experimental data for mechanism study of Marangoni effect and to look for some more effective additives to substitute 2-ethyl-1-hexanol or 1-octanol which are widely used in lithium bromide absorption refrigeration system. In present study
absorption of water vapor into the 62 wt% lithium bromide solution with several six-carbon and seven-carbon alcohol additives such as 4-methyl-2-pentanol
2-ethyl-1-butanol
1-hexanol
2
4-dimethyl-3-pentanol
4-heptanol
2-heptanol
and 1-heptanol were investigated by using a simple stagnant pool absorber. The results show that effects of 1-hexanol and 1-heptanol on absorption of water vapor into aqueous lithium bromide solution are better than those of 2-ethyl-1-hexanol.
